Ports & Logistics
The transport infrastructure network serving Alentejo is diversified, ensuring fast and safe connections by land, sea, and air to the surrounding territories.
The Sines port, and industrial and logistics complex, located between the Mediterranean and Atlantic routes, offers direct connections to all continents.
Sines is home to the largest cargo container port in the country and one of the 20 largest in Europe. It is currently increasing its capacity from 2.3 to 4.1 million TEU/year. With room for expansion capacity in all cargo segments, the Port of Sines has a terminal for dry bulk, guarantees Portugal’s energy supply in oil and natural gas, and offers direct weekly connections to major world markets for cargo.
Moving all types of cargo in a 24/24h operation regime and counting on agile and electronic information systems, Sines offers companies located in the hinterland greater competitiveness in foreign markets.
