Summary of the second day of the Invest in Alentejo Week at Expo Dubai
The second day of the mission at EXPO Dubai 2020 focused on the promotion of the Aeronautical and Agroindustrial clusters, two very dynamic axes of the Invest in Alentejo initiative, led by ADRAL, and with great potential for development.
In a seminar dedicated to the Aeronautical sector, at the Portugal Pavilion, this axis was introduced and the project “Accelera – The Innovation Cluster for Aviation and Travel Star-ups Accelerationg Sustainable Growth in Ponte de Sor” was presented.
The presentation of opportunities and aeronautical and aerospace industrial dynamics at the Ponte de Sor Municipal Aerodrome was made by Rogério Alves, vice-president of the Municipality.
The potential for business opportunities in the aeronautical sector in Évora was presented by Alexandre Varela, vice-president of the Municipality.
Still within the scope of the Aeronautical axis, this day is also marked by the visit to Jetex, a global leader in executive aviation services and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between PLM MIDDLE EAST, based in the United Arab Emirates, and the Municipality of Ponte de Sor, for the creation of the Accelera program, creating the first incubator and acceleration platform for companies and startups in the areas of aviation and tourism, based in the municipality.
Part of the day was also dedicated to the Agroindustry sector, with networking and visits to local industries focused on business opportunities in this sector in Alentejo.
