Invest in Alentejo’s tourism roadshow through North America with very positive results

The Invest in Alentejo tourism roadshow through the United States of America and Canada came to an end on May 14.

During these days, the tourist offer of Alentejo and Porto & Norte was presented by the two Promotion Agencies (ARPTA – Regional Agency for Tourism Promotion of Alentejo and Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal) and by a group of 15 companies from both the regions, to local operators from Washington DC, Chicago, Boston, Montreal and Toronto.

“Once again the initiative Invest In Alentejo, led by ADRAL, which ARPTA – Regional Agency for Tourism Promotion of Alentejo is a partner of, has allowed the realization of a business mission to the United States and Canada, which, in addition to the representatives of the organizing entities (ADRAL, ARPTA and Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal), involved 15 companies of the tourism sector. The mission achieved its goals, with the holding of commercial workshops in five cities (Washington DC, Chicago, Boston, Montreal and Toronto), in five consecutive days, which resulted in meetings with more than 200 agents. The testimonies collected from the participating Portuguese companies, as well as the tourism players of these two markets, indicate that we have done a job that will have great consequences to tourism and accelerate the return of tourist activity,” highlights Vítor Fernandez da Silva, President of ARPTA, in the balance of the business mission to relaunch post-Covid tourism.

The Invest in Alentejo initiative, led by ADRAL – Agência de Desenvolvimento Regional do Alentejo and funded by the Alentejo 2020 Program, has a mission to strengthen the internationalization of goods and services in the Alentejo region.
