Tourism is the second most important contributor to the regional GDP and the one that generates more income to the territory.
In Alentejo’s GDP, tourism has a similar weight to the other axes in the Invest in Alentejo project, with the particularity of being a sector composed of nearly 700 nano, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
Between accommodation and multiple other economical areas, tourism reaches a profit close to profit close to 690 million euros spread over thousands of entrepreneurs.
The tourism sector must be boosted, and it is with that in mind that, through Invest in Alentejo, we organize business missions to markets with high growth potential. This is a way of allowing local businesses to make new contacts with stakeholders from the sector at a global level, facilitating its internationalization and, consequently, boosting its performance.
